Job summary

Virtex in Plano, TX is seeking a skilled Cable Harness Fabricator to assemble wire harnesses per drawings and documentation. You will cut, strip, crimp, insert pins, and assemble harnesses using appropriate tools, while following IPC standards and safety guidelines.

The role requires reading drawings, interpreting BOMs, and working under supervision with the ability to train entry-level Cable Assembly 1 staff. English proficiency is essential.

Requirements

• Read, Write, and speak English

• Ability to read drawings and wiring diagrams
• Use appropriate hand tools to cut, strip, pin, and tin wire
• Use automated machinery for cutting, stripping, and pinning wire
• Route and tie cable assemblies
• Required education and experience:
• Prefer a high school diploma or 2-4 years’ experience fabrication cable harness
• Must be able to obtain or be currently certified to: Workmanship Requirements for Electronics and Cable Assemblies in accordance with IPC J-STD-001 and IPC/WHMA-A-620
• A description of the physical demands:
• Must be capable of performing repetitive motion tasks.
• Sufficient strength in hands to use hand tools for extended periods to crimp pins on wires
• Must be able to differentiate colors
• Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds
• Ability to sit and/or stand for 2-hour periods
• Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms
• A description of Safety requirements:
• Safety glasses required when cutting wire with hand tools or cleaning with alcohol.
