Food Clerk-Stocker

Primary Responsibilities

• Greet, assist, and guide customers politely to products
• Stock, merchandise, and correct product displays
• Build and maintain displays as needed
• Maintain standards for perishables and safety procedures
• Transport goods within the department
• Ensure health and safety codes, check pricing and expiration dates, and organize areas
• Assist in other departments as needed to serve customers
• Stay updated on safety standards and chemical/machine knowledge
• Understand merchandising labels, warehouse codes, reports, and invoices
• Follow complex verbal instructions related to store policies and equipment
• Practice safety rules and promptly report hazards
• Operate equipment like balers, case cutters, and pallet jacks (must be 18+)
• Manage damaged or unsalable products for return

Qualifications

• Basic Math skills
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience in related fields preferred

Specific Tasks

• Lifting, twisting, and carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain signage and pricing
• Care for signs, banners, and debris
• Respond promptly to questions from customers, coworkers, and vendors

Work Environment

Work involves inside tasks with transitions between heat, cold, humidity, and dust from various areas. All employees must comply with policies and laws. Duties may vary within reason.
