Primary Responsibilities

1. Greet, assist, and guide customers politely to products.
2. Stock, merchandise, and correct product displays actively.
3. Build and fill displays as needed.
4. Maintain standards for perishables and adhere to safety procedures.
5. Transport goods within the department.
6. Ensure compliance with health and safety codes, check pricing and expiration dates, and organize the area.
7. Perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisors and assist in other departments as needed.
8. Stay updated on safety standards and be familiar with cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment.
9. Understand merchandising labels, warehouse codes, reports, and order forms.
10. Follow store policies, operate equipment safely, and report hazards immediately.
11. Operate equipment like balers, case cutters, and pallet jacks (must be 18+ to operate).
12. Handle damaged or unsalable products appropriately.

Qualifications

1. Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
2. High School Diploma or equivalent.
3. Experience in a related field preferred.

Specific Tasks

1. Lift and move up to 50 lbs.
2. Maintain signage and pricing accuracy.
3. Respond promptly and politely to questions from customers, coworkers, and vendors.
4. Use store communication systems properly.

Work Environment

Indoor environment with temperature, humidity, and dust transitions near entry/exit points. All employees must follow company policies and legal requirements. Responsibilities may vary within reason.
