Food Clerk-Stocker

Primary Responsibilities

• Greet, assist, and lead customers to product politely
• Actively stock, merchandise, and correct product
• Build and fill displays as needed
• Maintain company standards for perishables and stay up to date on all active safety procedures
• Transport goods within department
• Ensure Health and Safety Codes, check for pricing and expiration, and maintain an organized area
• Perform miscellaneous tasks assigned by supervisors and managers, assisting within other departments as needed
• Stay current with Health and Safety standards, and understand cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment
• Understand merchandising labels, warehouse order codes, reports, and invoices
• Follow verbal instructions regarding store policies and equipment usage
• Ensure safety of self, customers, and co-workers, and report hazards immediately
• Operate baler, case cutter, and pallet jack (must be 18+ to operate pallet jack and baler)
• Move damaged or unsalable products to the backroom for return

Qualifications

• Basic Mathematics (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Prior experience in related field or industry

Specific Tasks

• Lift, twist, move, and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain signage and pricing
• Care for signs, banners, and debris
• Respond promptly and politely to questions from customers, coworkers, and vendors
• Use store phone and intercom systems properly

Work Environment

Inside work with transitions of heat, cold, humidity, and dust from receiving and parking areas.
