Primary Responsibilities

1. Greet, assist, and guide customers politely to products.
2. Stock, merchandise, and correct product displays actively.
3. Build and fill displays as needed.
4. Maintain standards for perishables and stay updated on safety procedures.
5. Transport goods within the department.
6. Ensure compliance with health and safety codes, check pricing and expiration dates, and organize the area.
7. Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned by supervisors and assist other departments as needed.
8. Stay informed about safety standards and understand the use of cleaning supplies and equipment.
9. Understand merchandising labels, warehouse codes, reports, and order forms.
10. Follow store policies and safety rules, immediately report hazards, and remove broken containers or debris.
11. Operate equipment like balers, case cutters, and pallet jacks (must be 18+ to operate some equipment).
12. Move and sort damaged or unsalable products for return or disposal.

Qualifications

1. Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
2. High school diploma or equivalent.
3. Experience in a related field is preferred.

Specific Tasks

1. Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
2. Maintain signage and pricing accuracy.
3. Care for store signage and clean daily debris.
4. Respond promptly and politely to questions from customers, coworkers, and vendors.
5. Use store communication systems properly.

Work Environment

Indoor environment with temperature and humidity changes due to store operations. All employees must adhere to company policies and legal requirements. Responsibilities and duties may vary within reason.
