Job summary

Rock Creek IGA in North Wilkesboro, NC is seeking a Dairy/Stock Clerk to stock shelves, assist customers, and keep aisles clean and organized. You will move products using carts and lifts, load and unload shipments, and help maintain accurate product placement.

Responsibilities

Primary Purpose and Mission Statement

Essential Duties

• Perform general stocking duties daily including storing and stocking products in/on bins, pallets, shelves, racks, and refrigerators.
• Move, handle, and transport finished products, material, or supplies to other departments by utilizing hand jacks, lift carts, and other means of transportation.
• Load, unload, and move heavy, bulky products.
• Keep the work area clean, organized, and free of hazards (including backroom and shelves) and dispose of trash.
• Help and assist customers in finding merchandise and providing them with information, sales, promotions, etc.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Follow safety policies and procedures and encourage colleagues to do the same.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. throughout any assigned shift unassisted.

• Ability to climb and balance on a step stool/ladder.
• Ability to stoop, kneel and crouch.
• Ability to sustain repetitive arm and hand motion.
• Ability to reach above shoulders and horizontally to stock and retrieve inventory.

Work Environment

• Ability to work under a variety of conditions and temperatures, wet and dry, for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work safely with box cutters and grocery equipment.
