THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services (DHS) is looking for a dedicated and highly organized team player to join Norristown State Hospital as a Stock Clerk 2. We look forward to working with you!


DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Stock Clerk 2, you will be responsible for the receipt, storage, and distribution of a variety of items used throughout Norristown State Hospital. Specific duties include monitoring supplies and notifying the appropriate staff when items need to be replenished, receiving and examining goods, and using mechanized storeroom equipment to move materials. You will be responsible for logging incoming and outgoing shipments, inspecting the quantity and quality of commodities to ensure conformance to specifications, and accepting or rejecting goods as indicated. During the course of daily assignments, it is essential to maintain facility safety by ensuring that doors are not left unlocked or unattended.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. May change based upon operational needs.
  • Overtime as needed.
  • Free parking
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience in stockroom, warehouse, or clerical work; and graduation from high school;or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must meet thePA residency requirement. For more information on ways to meet PA residency requirements, follow thelinkand click on Residency.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
