About the Job

The Retail Associate is responsible for ensuring our Customers have a positive shopping experience. They make eye contact, smile, greet all Customers in a courteous and friendly manner, treat fellow Associates with respect, efficiently follow all company best practice standards as outlined in all work centers, maintain a clean work area at all times, and ensure proper merchandise presentation.

Retail Associates are expected to be engaged in these tasks during all working hours and may perform a range of functions in all areas of the store as business needs require. Additional tasks may be requested in specific situations to help achieve our Customer service and operational goals.

Essential Functions

• Safety is the number one priority; practice safe behaviors in everything they do.
• Maintain a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe and secure shopping environment, keep egress clear, and report any unsafe conditions to Store Leadership.
• Treat all Customers and Associates with respect and courtesy; greet customers with eye contact, a smile and a hello, and thank them with every transaction.
• Assist customers with merchandise and answer questions in a polite and knowledgeable manner; handle all customer issues courteously and call Store Leadership when needed.
• Represent and support the Company brand at all times.
• Perform cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high‑touch areas.
• Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to the Company’s dress code.
• Perform daily sizing and recovery per company best practices to keep the store neat, clean, and organized.
• Expedite newly received merchandise receipts to the sales floor with urgency and merchandize per monthly presentation guidelines.
• Understand the Loss Prevention Awareness program, the Shortage Highway, and, where applicable, the Store Protection Specialist position and merchandise protection standards.
• Demonstrate integrity and honesty in all interactions, safeguard confidential information, cash, credit card information, and merchandise.
• Follow Mark‑Out‑of‑Stock policies, properly process merchandise, and notify Store Leadership for disposals.
• Follow all cash, check, charge card, refund, void, and offline procedures; maintain accuracy when handling bankable tenders.
• Show a sense of urgency to efficiently perform the role and maximize productivity by executing store best practices and minimizing steps in workflow.

Qualifications and Special Skills Required

• Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates, and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative, and pleasant manner.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments.

Physical Requirements/ADA

• Use all store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PCs.
• Stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time.
• Bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop regularly.
• Occasionally push, pull, and lift more than 25 pounds.
• Use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies.
• Certain assignments may require other qualifications and skills.
• Stockroom shifts may require pushing, pulling, and lifting more than 20 pounds.
• Work remotely: No.
• Job type: Full‑time, Part‑time.
• Pay: $13.00–$15.00 per hour.
