The Retail Associate plays a key role in ensuring customers have a positive shopping experience. They greet customers, assist with merchandise, maintain store presentation, and comply with company policies.

Essential Functions

• Understanding that safety is the number one priority and practicing safe behaviors.
• Maintaining a high level of awareness on the sales floor and ensuring a clutter‑free environment.
• Treating all customers and associates with respect and courtesy; greeting customers with eye contact, a smile, and friendly language.
• Assisting customers at the register and throughout the store, providing knowledgeable and polite responses.
• Responding promptly to customer service calls and handling issues with a courteous approach.
• Representing and supporting the company brand at all times.
• Performing cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, wiping counters and mirrors, replenishing restroom supplies, and disinfecting high‑touch areas.
• Maintaining a professional appearance and adhering to the company’s dress code.
• Performing daily sizing and recovery tasks to ensure a neat, clean, and organized store.
• Expediting newly received merchandise to the sales floor and merchandising items according to presentation guidelines.
• Understanding the loss‑prevention awareness program, Shortage Highway, and any relevant store protection procedures.
• Demonstrating integrity and honesty in all interactions, safeguarding confidential and cash information.
• Following policies for out‑of‑stock merchandise, cash, check, charge card, refund and void procedures.
• Working with urgency to maximize productivity and minimize steps in workflow.

Physical Requirements / ADA

• Use of store equipment including PDTs, registers and PC.
• Standing, walking, and moving around the store for the entirety of the shift.
• Bending at the waist, squatting, kneeling, climbing, carrying, reaching, and stooping regularly.
• Occasional pushing, pulling, and lifting more than 25 pounds.
• Use of janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other supplies.
• Certain assignments may require additional qualifications and skills.
• For stockroom shifts: pushing, pulling, and lifting more than 20 pounds.

Compensation

The base pay range for this role is seventeen dollars thirty‑four cents to seventeen dollars eighty‑four cents per hour, depending on experience, skills, qualifications, education, certifications, seniority, and location. This range is one component of the total compensation package; additional rewards vary by position and location.
