Job Overview:

The primary role of the STNA is to provide direct patient care to Hospice of Cincinnati patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, providing companionship, and emotional support, especially during crises. The role requires knowledge of safety policies and adherence to approved procedures.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (2 years in General Studies)
• Age 17 with a work permit
• Successful completion of Home Health Aide competency checklist and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification during orientation
• STNA Certification or completion of Nursing Student Clinical Training; applicants interested in completing the STNA program upon hire may be considered
• Clinical and customer service experience

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform basic patient care tasks under supervision, including bathing, feeding, ambulation assistance, and providing emotional support
• Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team and patient's family
• Maintain cleanliness in patients' living areas
• Conduct equipment and supply checks, report issues, restock supplies, and monitor supply rooms
• Accurately document clinical interactions and patient status, demonstrating basic technological proficiency

Working Conditions:

Various physical activities including climbing, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, and walking. Consistent concentration, communication, and reasoning are required. Some visual and auditory tasks are involved.
