Job summary

NAACP Legal Defense & Educational Fund (LDF) seeks a Manager, Stewardship and Events to advance the Development Department's donor-centered stewardship program. You will design and execute event plans, craft donor communications, and ensure timely acknowledgments and records.

The role focuses on growing relationships with major donors and coordinating stewardship across nationwide events, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, discretion, and collaboration with the Development team.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years relevant experience in an events and development office.
• Excellent communications skills, oral and written.
• Excellent research and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a high degree of discretion.
• Experience working with donors and high-profile volunteer leadership.
• Accuracy and attention to detail in written work and oral communications.
• Highly organized with strong project management skills and judgement in prioritizing deadlines.
• Experience using fundraising databases and general search engines (e.g., The Foundation Center, Raiser’s Edge, Lexis, Google).
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and implementation of fundraising events, including signature NEJAD event and other cultivation events across the country.
• Craft a stewardship plan for annual and campaign donors including communications of impact and touchpoints.
• Perform day-to-day tasks in support of the stewardship program.
• Prepare customized acknowledgement letters, pledge reminders, receipts and other correspondence.
• Provide excellent donor service for information requests and donor records.
• Maintain donor contact and biographical information.
• Assist in development of donor cultivation and stewardship events as needed.
• Produce lists and reports for campaigns, board communications and funder analyses.
• Develop profiles and look-books for special events donors and prospects.
• Prepare expense reports and process event invoices.
• Research event venues.
• Ensure confidentiality of donor information.
