Wellington Management seeks a Stewardship Associate to join the Stewardship & Sustainable Investment team within the COO Group, focusing on engagements, proxy voting, and stewardship operations. You will work across teams to scale capabilities and deliver long-term client value.

The role emphasizes collaboration with investment professionals, governance research, and data-driven stewardship reporting, with opportunities to leverage AI-enabled tools to enhance research quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Law, Sustainability, Political Science, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
• Approximately 3–6 years of relevant experience in investment stewardship, corporate governance, investment research, responsible investing, sustainability, consulting, investor relations, or another research-oriented role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Familiarity with data tools such as Power BI, Python, or other AI-enabled workflows is a plus.
• Exceptional early-career candidates with outstanding analytical ability, writing skills, and demonstrated interest in corporate governance and investing will also be considered.

Responsabilités

• Support the Stewardship Lead in the development and execution of thematic and issuer-specific engagement priorities.
• Participate in and lead, where appropriate, engagements with company management and board directors in support of stewardship priorities and to inform proxy voting decisions.
• Identify and communicate key insights, company responsiveness, and engagement outcomes.
• Contribute to issuer-specific research, stewardship case studies and internal knowledge sharing that support the broader investment dialogue.
• Analyze proxy ballot items across global markets and formulate voting recommendations consistent with Wellington’s Proxy Voting Guidelines.
• Support proxy voting operations, especially during peak proxy season, while helping improve the efficiency and quality of voting workflows.
• Maintain accurate engagement records and stewardship data to support reporting, measurement, and transparency.
• Leverage data analytics and AI-enabled research tools, where appropriate, to improve the efficiency and quality of proxy voting analysis, engagement capture, and reporting.
