The Encore Boston Harbor Utility Worker

Responsible for clearing, cleaning, and maintaining kitchen areas, and for transporting materials and inventory in and out of banquet areas.

Job Responsibilities

• Adheres to all Encore Boston Harbor core values and property and department standards.
• Actively contributes to departmental performance, the accuracy, confidentiality, and thoroughness of departmental policies and procedures; records and reports.
• Follows all applicable internal policies, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and controls property wide.
• Delivers and maintains a maximum level of property‑wide service and satisfaction.
• Contributes to company‑wide communication and best practices.
• Keeps informed of all new developments within the department.
• Manages multiple priorities simultaneously and meets deadlines, often in stressful and high‑pressure situations.
• Cleans and maintains public area equipment and the assigned premises.
• Removes and compacts trash from floors.
• Keeps the department supply areas organized and clean.
• Performs inventories and delivers/stock supplies as required.
• Communicates politely and displays courtesy to internal customers.
• Communicates to his/her superior any difficulties, guest or internal customer comments and other relevant information.
• Communicates with co‑workers and supervisor to ensure quality service.
• Routinely performs deep cleaning processes to ensure overall cleanliness of the property.
• Works with safety as a priority and follows department and company safety standards.
• Maintains relevant knowledge of industry through continuing education and training.
• Performs any other job‑related duties as assigned.

Age, Gaming And Certifications

Minimum age 18 years. Must obtain and maintain registration or a license issued by the Massachusetts Gaming Commission.

Education And/or Experience

High school or equivalent degree preferred.

Language Skills

Conversational English required, with ability to respond to common inquiries from employees or guests.

Physical Demands

The role requires regular standing, walking, sitting, and use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms, sit, climb or balance, and stoop, stretch, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Essential responsibilities include lifting or maneuvering at least 50 pounds and long spans of standing/walking.

Work Environment

• The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate; it increases to loud when on casino or property floor or some back‑of‑house areas. Must interact with internal and external guests professionally.
• Work schedules vary to reflect business needs.
• Employees may work outside and be subject to all weather conditions and varying levels of cold, heat, humidity, precipitation, wind, noise, and vibration. Work may be performed in and around electrically or mechanically energized equipment; proper precautions and PPE are required.
