Job summary

MGM Resorts International in Detroit is seeking a Stewarding Supervisor to elevate daily stewarding operations across outlets. You will lead a hospitality-driven team, foster connections with guests and colleagues, and ensure exceptional WOW moments.

Key duties include supervising staff, optimizing equipment and inventory, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards. The role requires two years in stewarding and potential weekend/holiday shifts.

Qualifications

• Two years of stewarding experience in hospitality/food & beverage.
• Previous supervisory/management experience in the restaurant industry preferred.
• Able to work a varied shift including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise assigned staff including hiring recommendations and coaching.
• Provide ideas for new products, services, technology, and processes.
• Inspect equipment and kitchen areas for cleanliness and sanitary procedures.
• Inspect equipment to ensure proper mechanical functioning.
• Assist in inventory and record keeping for dinnerware, flatware, and glassware.
• Monitor temperature and chemical solution requirements for dishwashing and storage.
• Requisition new and replacement equipment as needed.

THE JOB:

As a Stewarding Supervisor, you will play a key role in elevating the daily operations of the stewarding team across assigned outlets. THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Supervise assigned staff to include hiring recommendations that encompass the company’s diversity commitment; training; coaching; performance feedback, recommend and administer discipline, and scheduling

• Provide ideas and suggestions for new products, services, technology and process

• Make routine inspections of all equipment and kitchen areas to ensure that cleanliness and sanitary procedures are maintained

• Make routine inspections of all equipment ensuring that all equipment is in proper mechanical working order

• Assist in maintaining the inventory and record keeping for all dinnerware, flatware, and glassware

• Assist in monitoring temperature and chemical solution requirements for dish-washing, pot washing and storage

• Requisition new and replacement equipment as needed

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Two years of stewarding experience working within the hotel/casino industry

• Previous supervisory/management experience in the restaurant industry preferred

• Able to work a varied shift including weekends and holidays
