Job summary

The Chatham Inn is seeking a dedicated dishwasher to maintain a clean and efficient kitchen environment on site in Chatham, MA. You will operate dishwashing equipment, sanitize dishes, and support the kitchen team with a focus on safety and quality in every service.

Experience in a similar role and strong English communication are preferred. This position offers competitive on-site benefits and the opportunity to be part of a Relais & Châteaux and Forbes Five-Star property.

A day in the life...

The steward is to clean and maintain equipment and areas such as Dishwashing/ Kitchen/ Cafeteria/ Compactor and Storage according to hotel specifications and standards. Wash pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils and equipment. Assign other cleaning projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate dishwashing machines and manually wash dishes, pots, pans, and utensils.
• Ensure all items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, including floors, walls, workstations, and equipment.
• Ensure all areas are free from debris and hazards.
• Properly dispose of waste and recyclables.
• Maintain cleanliness in trash disposal areas.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
• Safely operate and maintain dishwashing equipment.
• Report any malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor.
