Job Description

Under minimal supervision, the Steward/ess provides direct meal service to patients, gathers feedback, and collaborates with leadership to enhance food and nutrition services. Responsibilities include accurate delivery of meals, tray assembly, food preparation, sanitation, and adherence to safety and policy standards, all while respecting patient cultural, age, and environmental needs.

Primary Duties

• Deliver food and nourishment items accurately, using two patient identifiers.
• Collect soiled trays and obtain patient feedback.
• Maintain proper cleaning and dishwashing procedures.
• Assemble trays according to prescribed diets promptly.
• Prepare food and beverages following standard procedures.
• Store food and supplies properly.
• Operate and sanitize equipment safely.
• Follow policies and adapt to unit changes.
• Escalate issues appropriately.
• Perform duties safely and mindfully.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED preferred.
• At least one year of food service or related experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Computer proficiency required.
• Availability to work evening shifts.
