Job Position

PRN Dishwasher position. MUST have afternoon / evening / weekend availability to help cover vacant shifts within the department. Responsible for dishwashing and other general housekeeping tasks. Maintains the Culinary Department in a sanitary, safe, and clean condition that meets hospital, Health Department and Joint Commission standards.

Posting Specifics

• Benefits Eligible: No Pay Rate: Based on Experience
• Shift Details: PRN positions. Will help cover vacant shifts as needed within the department.
• Must have Afternoons / Evenings & Weekends availability.
• Most PRN caregivers work 2-3 shifts per week depending on the needs of the department.
• Will know your schedule at least a week in advance, unless needed to cover on short notice.
• Located at Intermountain Medical Center Culinary Services

Qualifications

Demonstrate ability to operate housekeeping equipment and dish machine (preferred).

Essential Functions

• Collects carts with patient trays from hospital floors.
• Cleans and disinfects assigned areas including dining areas using department cleaning procedures.
• Uses cleaning chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
• Understands procedures and properly disposes of infectious waste and trash.
• Operates and maintains assigned equipment (e.g. commercial dishwasher) according to established procedures.

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
• Occasional interaction with customers that requires employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
• This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment.
• Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment.
• Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
• Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work.
• Tolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work around dish machines and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals.
