Job summary

Limelight Hotels is seeking a Steward/Prep Cook for the Winter 2026-27 season at Limelight Mammoth. You will clean and store flatware, assist with food preparation, and report to the Executive Chef.

This full-time seasonal position runs through the winter season with duties centered in the kitchen to support service. Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent (preferred) and ServSafe or similar certification (preferred).

  • Scrape, stack, and clean all dishes properly.
  • Store dishes and silver in designated locations.
  • Set up cleaning area and maintain dish machine.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
  • Assist with storage of food deliveries.
  • Clean kitchen walls, floors, and related areas.
  • Disassemble and clean dishwasher before end of shift.
  • Follow safety signs when floors are wet or mopped.
  • Assist with food preparation according to chef specs.
  • Follow daily preparation list to ensure readiness for service.

Job Description

Position Summary
The Steward / Prep Cook is responsible for cleaning and storing all flatware, silver, glass, kitchen trays, pots, pans according to the direction of the restaurant management team. The Steward / Prep Cook also assists in food preparation as requested. This position reports to the Executive Chef.

Essential Job Functions/Key Job Responsibilities
  • Scrape, stack, and clean all dishes properly
  • Store dishes and silver in the designated locations
  • Set up cleaning area: put dish machine together properly, fil all water tanks, turn on heating elements to dish machine
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, participate in pre and post shift cleaning and organization to include but not limited to: kitchen equipment, walk in fridge/freezer storage, dry storage, trash, recycle, mopping, sweeping
  • Assist with storage of food deliveries
  • Clean kitchen walls, floors, loading docks, and other associated areas at the proper time
  • Disassemble, clean and re-assemble dishwasher prior to end of shift
  • Post appropriate caution signs when the floor is wet or being mopped to ensure highest level of safety
  • Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean orderly condition
  • Assist with preparing food items according to chef specifications
  • Follow daily preparation list to ensure items are ready for service
  • Report any problems with food product, kitchen equipment or work area to a Chef/Sous chef
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Prior work experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred
  • ServSafe or similar food safety course certification is preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures
  • Familiarity with company rules, regulations, and operational standards

Additional Information
Work Environment & Physical Demands
  • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Must be able to occasionally lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
