Job summary

Limelight Hotels is seeking a full-time Steward at our Ketchum, Idaho location. You will clean and store flatware, silver, glassware, and kitchen items, and assist in food preparation as requested. The role reports to the Chef de Cuisine and supports restaurant operations during service.

Responsibilities

• Clean and stack all dishes properly.
• Store dishes and silver in designated locations.
• Set up cleaning area for dish machine.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
• Assist with storage of food deliveries.
• Clean kitchen walls, floors, and loading docks.
• Disassemble and reassemble the dishwasher before shift end.
• Post caution signs when the floor is wet.
• Maintain kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Assist with food preparation according to chef specifications.
• Follow daily prep list for service readiness.
• Report problems to Executive Steward.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Position Summary

The Steward is responsible for cleaning and storing all flatware, silver, glass, kitchen trays, pots, pans according to the direction of the restaurant management team. The Steward also assists in food preparation as requested. This position reports to the Chef de Cuisine.

Essential Job Functions/Key Job Responsibilities

• Clean and stack all dishes properly
• Store dishes and silver in the designated locations
• Set up cleaning area: put dish machine together properly, fil all water tanks, turn on heating elements to dish machine
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment, participate in pre and post shift cleaning and organization to include but not limited to: kitchen equipment, walk in fridge/freezer storage, dry storage, trash, recycle, mopping, sweeping
• Assist with storage of food deliveries
• Clean kitchen walls, floors, loading docks, and other associated areas at the proper time
• Disassemble, clean and re-assemble dishwasher prior to end of shift
• Post appropriate caution signs when the floor is wet or being mopped to ensure highest level of safety
• Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean orderly condition
• Assist with preparing food items according to chef specifications
• Follow daily preparation list to ensure items are ready for service
• Report any problems with food product, kitchen equipment or work area to Executive Steward
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education & Experience Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Prior work experience in a commercial kitchen is preferred
• ServSafe or similar food safety course certification is preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Great Knowledge of company policies and procedures
• Familiarity with company rules, regulations, and operational standards
• Basic industry terminology
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
• Ability to do basic problem-solving

  Additional Information

  Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time
  • Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces
  • Must be able to occasionally lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
