Job summary

Hank's Seafood Charleston in Charleston, SC is seeking a Steward (PM) to join the kitchen team as a full-time role. The steward will help maintain a clean, organized back-of-house area and assist with food prep as needed.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading dishwashing machines, hand-washing items, storing dishes and equipment, ensuring enough clean dishes during peak hours, and monitoring machines with prompt issue reporting.

• Load and unload dishwashing machines
• Wash specific items by hand (e.g. wooden cutting boards, large pots and delicate china)
• Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment accordingly
• Ensure there are enough clean dishes, glasses, and utensils, especially during peak hours
• Check washing machines’ operation and promptly report any issues
• Ability to manage multiple projects and high-priority needs as required

This individual is a crucial part of the kitchen. This person knows that a successful culinary experience can only be created with sanitized and well-maintained equipment and facilities. Their primary role is to maintain a clean kitchen, properly organize the restaurant and back of house area, and assists with the preparation of food as need.

Requested Tasks

• Load and unload dishwashing machines
• Wash specific items by hand (e.g wooden cutting boards, large pots and delicate china)
• Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment accordingly
• Ensure there are enough clean dishes, glasses, and utensil, especially during peak hours
• Check washing machines’ operation and promptly report any technical/performance issues
• Ability to maintain multiple projects and high priority needs as required
