Job summary

Hank's Seafood Charleston is seeking a Part-Time Host to greet guests and manage seating during AM/PM shifts. Join a landmark seafood restaurant overlooking Charleston Market and contribute to a welcoming dining atmosphere.

You will take reservations, coordinate with front-of-house staff, and maintain a crisp, organized space while upholding service standards.

Previous restaurant experience and a friendly, patient demeanor are highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests in a warm, friendly manner and follow service standards.
• Manage seating and reservations, optimize table turns.
• Operate reservation system and update table status and guest notes.
• Answer inquiries promptly and communicate with front of house staff.
• Perform opening/closing duties as needed.
• Maintain a neat, organized dining area and professional appearance.
• Support the team to ensure an exceptional dining experience.
• Demonstrate patient, approachable service.
• Liaise with staff to anticipate guests' needs.

Hank's Seafood Restaurant is located in a turn-of-the-century warehouse overlooking the Charleston City Market. Hank's Seafood has been beautifully renovated to an ambiance that reflects Charleston's port history and family roots.

Seeking warmth personified. A host is organized, quick-thinking, and positive and has a knack for hitting curveballs out of the park. This is the kind of person who never met a stranger and who goes the extra mile to keep a friend smiling. A host takes and confirms reservations, seats guests, answers inquiries, and communicates efficiently and clearly with front of house staff and leadership to help ensure an exceptional dining experience.

Requested Tasks

• Welcome guests in a warm and friendly manner always adhering to service standards
• Monitor guests' seating, always planning 2 steps ahead, ascertaining both guests’ and restaurants’ needs to maximize service flow
• Use and accurately maintain restaurant reservation system - including but not limited to proper table status, rotations, cover counts, and guest notes.
• Respond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly, and efficient manner
• Performs opening and closing duties, as needed
• Maintain a neat, organized and crisp environment
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor, contributing to overall ambiance & presentation of the restaurant
• -Prior experience in a restaurant highly preferred
• -Approachable and personable personality
• -Ability to be patient with guests' requests
