Job summary

Sonesta Hotels International Corporation is seeking a Steward to join our culinary team. The role involves cleaning and sanitizing pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen areas while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

You will operate the dish machine, assist with staff cafeteria service, and ensure proper storage of clean dinnerware. This full-time position offers comprehensive benefits in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a kitchen or foodservice environment preferred.
• Ability to follow safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Capable of standing for extended periods and handling routine cleaning tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate dish machine and sanitize pots, pans, china, glassware, and utensils.
• Clean and sanitize the kitchen and food prep areas.
• Sweep and mop kitchen floors and other assigned areas.
• Collect and empty trash; maintain clean storage areas.
• Support the Chef and Kitchen Supervisor in meal service for staff Cafeteria.

What this role is all about

The Steward works with the culinary team to clean and sanitize pots, pans, utensils, the kitchen and other kitchen equipment, in accordance with time, product and placement standards to ensure total guest satisfaction.

What you'll be doing

• Operate dish machine, clean and sanitize pots and pans, china, glassware, flatware, kitchen equipment, and other utensils.
• Clean and sanitize the kitchen and food preparation areas.
• Sweep and mop all kitchen floors and other assigned areas.
• Collect and empty trash from designated areas into the hotel dumpster.
• Service food for the Employee Cafeteria as specified by the Chef or Kitchen Supervisor.
• Store all clean china, glass, and silver to its proper storage location using care to minimize breakage.
• Adhere to established safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Adhere to uniform and grooming standards.
• Perform other duties or projects as requested by management.

Anticipated Pay Range & Additional Job Information

$24 to $26 Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors including but not limited to job related knowledge, skills and job specific experience/overall experience.
