Job summary

Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado is seeking a part-time Dishwasher to maintain a sanitary kitchen and support the Culinary Department in meeting hospital standards. You will clean and sanitize dishes, collect patient-tray carts, and disinfect dining areas using approved procedures, while following Joint Commission and OSHA guidelines.

Shifts total 20 hours per week: five days, 5:00pm–9:00pm and one 12:00pm–9:00pm.

Qualifications

• Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification is required by first day of work (required only in the states of Utah and Idaho).
• Demonstrates ability to read color coded labels and chemicals as well as following written and verbal directions
• Demonstrate ability to operate housekeeping equipment and dish machine (preferred)

Job Description:

Responsible for dishwashing and other general housekeeping tasks. Maintains the Culinary Department in a sanitary, safe, and clean condition that meets hospital, Health Department and Joint Commission standards.

Physical Requirements

• Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
• Occasional interaction with customers that requires employee to communicate as well as understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
• Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer, phone, and cable set-up and use.
• Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transport, pull, and push equipment. Will also work on hands and knees and bend to set-up, troubleshoot, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
• Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work.
• Tolerate extremes in temperature such as performing work around dish machines and tolerate exposure to cleaning chemicals.
