Job summary

Atlas NextWave is seeking a Steward Assistant to support the daily operation of the galley and accommodations aboard an SRIV vessel. This is an entry-level role open to candidates from hospitality or related service industries. Marine experience and Coast Guard licensing are not required.

You will help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for all personnel onboard, working under the Chief Steward and collaborating with ship crewmembers on daily duties and safety training.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder).
• Entry-level applicants are welcome to apply.
• Hospitality, food service, housekeeping, kitchen, cleaning, or laundry experience is preferred but not required.
• Ability and willingness to learn procedures associated with living and working aboard a vessel.
• Ability to follow health, safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a vessel crew.
• Must be capable of performing housekeeping, food service, sanitation, and laundry duties in a marine environment.
• U.S. Coast Guard license is not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with meal preparation and food service.
• Clean and maintain galley and food service areas.
• Assist with tracking food stores, rotating provisions, and maintaining inventory.
• Clean cabins, common areas, passageways, and sanitary facilities.
• Perform laundry duties, including operating washers and dryers, folding, and distributing laundry.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and hygiene standards throughout accommodations and work areas.
• Support overall crew welfare and morale.
• Learn and follow vessel safety, emergency response, and lifesaving procedures.
• Participate in required safety and equipment training.
• Perform other duties as assigned based on operational requirements.

Reporting Structure

The Steward Assistant works under the general administrative supervision of the Chief Steward.
