Job Summary

The steward maintains dishes, pots, pans, trays, kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in an orderly and sanitary condition.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Scrapes and rinses food from dirty dishes and washes them by hand or loads them into dishwashing machines, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation.
2. Washes pots, pans, and trays according to procedures, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation.
3. Polishes silverware using burnishing machines, chemical dips, buffing wheels, or hand cloths, ensuring sanitation.
4. Ensures compliance with safety procedures.
5. Maintains proper temperatures and chemical levels as per standards.
6. Keeps dish areas orderly and safe.
7. Sweeps and mops kitchen floors to meet safety and sanitation standards.
8. Washes worktables, walls, refrigerators, and food prep surfaces.
9. Removes trash and cleans garbage cans.
10. Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
11. Assists in loading and unloading supplies and products.
12. Performs other duties as assigned.
