Job summary

Penn Entertainment in Mississippi’s Vicksburg area is seeking a kitchen/cleaning associate to perform daily cleaning tasks, maintain equipment, and ensure sanitary conditions. You will support kitchen staff, manage supplies, and follow safety guidelines while adhering to a flexible schedule that includes nights and weekends.

Starting pay is $10.30 per hour, with benefits as part of a competitive Total Rewards package. Paid time off and local policy variations apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• At least six months of cleaning experience.
• Familiar with cleaning solutions and kitchen equipment.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily cleaning projects as directed by supervisors.
• Maintains hood vent system and ovens; cleans kitchen areas.
• cleans and sanitizes garbage cans and related areas.
• Maintains inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Stores equipment properly and follows safety rules.
• Ensures floors, walls and cookware are clean; uses Wet Floor signs.
• Operates safely with cleaning chemicals; uses proper PPE.
• Assists kitchen staff and other outlets with cleaning/restocking.
• Trains staff on safe cleaning practices and chemical use.
• Maintains confidentiality in all company matters.

• Performs daily cleaning projects as directed by supervisors.
• Cleans all floor mats; sweeps and mops all kitchen floors to remove food, debris, and grease; cleans behind and under all equipment.
• Maintains hood vent system and ovens.
• Cleans and sanitizes all garbage cans.
• Maintains adequate inventory of supplies needed to perform job function.
• Responsible for proper storage of all equipment (e.g. china, glass, silver, cooking equipment, and utensils).
• Ensures the cleanliness of all floors, walls, dishes, pots, etc. - Ensures "Wet Floor" signs and other markers are used.
• Ensures kitchen workers have and use the proper equipment necessary for the job (e.g. gloves, goggles, cleaning solutions, etc.).
• Ensures that all equipment functions properly; reports malfunctions promptly.
• Assists kitchen utility personnel with duties when necessary as directed by supervisor.
• Assists other outlets with cleaning projects or restocking supplies.
• Assists in training kitchen workers in all aspects of safety. - Trains kitchen personnel on proper cleaning solution usage and safety applications.
• Responsible for organization and proper storage of cleaning solutions and supplies.
• Maintains the levels and standards of cleanliness and safety set by the company, the Health Department, and OSHA.
• Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.
• Maintains strict confidentiality in all company matters.

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of six (6) months of cleaning experience required.
• Familiar with the handling of cleaning solutions and compounds; familiar with cleaning all types of kitchen equipment.
• Good verbal communication skills required; must be fluent and literate in English.
• Must have excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to comprehend product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and fluctuating days off.
