Job summary

The Steward at Marriott Del Mar 211 will maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, wash and sanitize dishes and utensils, and support culinary and service teams to ensure a safe, efficient operation. This full-time role requires a High School diploma, background check, and a strong commitment to teamwork, sanitation, and guest-ready hospitality.

You may assist with banquet setup, transport supplies, and stock rotation as needed.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Familiarity with kitchen sanitation standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness by sweeping and mopping floors.
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, trays, and glassware.
• Clean and sanitize worktables, walls, refrigerators, and other kitchen surfaces.
• Dispose of trash and garbage; clean and maintain garbage cans.
• Sort and process bottles and other recyclables.
• Polish silverware and utensils as needed.
• Transport supplies between storage and work areas.
• Assist with banquet table setup when required.
• Store and rotate stock in designated areas, ensuring cleanliness and organization.

Job description

The Steward ensures the cleanliness and organization of kitchen work areas, along with the proper care and maintenance of restaurant equipment and utensils. By supporting both culinary and service teams, this role promotes a safe, sanitary, and efficient environment that directly contributes to delivering exceptional guest experiences.

HOW YOU’LL SHAPE THE EXPERIENCE & FUTURE

• Maintain cleanliness by sweeping and mopping floors regularly.
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, trays, and glassware by hand or using dishwashing equipment.
• Clean and sanitize worktables, walls, refrigerators, and other kitchen surfaces.
• Properly dispose of trash and garbage; clean and maintain garbage cans.
• Sort and process bottles and other recyclables.
• Polish silverware and utensils as needed.
• Transport supplies and equipment between storage and work areas.
• Assist with banquet table setup when required.
• Wash and peel vegetables or assist with basic food prep as needed.
• Store and rotate stock in designated areas, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
• Other duties as assigned.
