Job summary

Ameristar Council Bluffs is seeking a dedicated Kitchen/Facilities Cleaner to maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen and surrounding areas. You will perform daily cleaning tasks, manage supplies, and support kitchen staff as needed.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. Training on safety and cleaning procedures will be provided to ensure compliance with Health Department and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily cleaning projects as directed by supervisors.
• Cleans all kitchen floors, mats, and behind equipment to maintain hygiene.
• Maintains hood vent system and ovens.
• Keeps inventory of cleaning supplies and ensures proper storage.
• Ensures all equipment is clean and functioning; reports malfunctions.
• Assists kitchen staff with cleaning and restocking as needed.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety standards per Health Department and OSHA.
• Communicates effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Works a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Supports other outlets with cleaning tasks as required.

Responsibilities

• Performs daily cleaning projects as directed by supervisors.
• Cleans all floor mats; sweeps and mops all kitchen floors to remove food, debris, and grease; cleans behind and under all equipment.
• Maintains hood vent system and ovens.
• Maintains adequate inventory of supplies needed to perform job function.
• Responsible for proper storage of all equipment (e.g. china, glass, silver, cooking equipment, and utensils).
• Ensures kitchen workers have and use the proper equipment necessary for the job (e.g. gloves, goggles, cleaning solutions, etc.).
• Ensures that all equipment functions properly, reports malfunctions promptly.
• Assists kitchen utility personnel with duties as directed by supervisor.
• Assists other outlets with cleaning projects or restocking supplies.
• Responsible for organization and proper storage of cleaning solutions and supplies.
• Maintains the levels and standards of cleanliness and safety set by the company, the Health Department, and OSHA.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Familiar with the handling of cleaning solutions and compounds; familiar with cleaning all types of kitchen equipment.
• Must have excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to comprehend product labeling instructions to enable the safe application of products.
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and fluctuating days off.
