Job summary

Ncimplant seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to clean, decontaminate, disinfect and sterilize surgical instruments, trays, and reusable devices, ensuring sterile, ready-to-use supplies for patient care. In this role you will also assist with basic radiographs, post-operative instructions, and patient records.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, OSHA infection control knowledge, and X-ray certification.

Qualifications

• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with OSHA infection control policies.
• Ability to attend to multiple tasks at the same time and to prioritize assignments and responsibilities to ensure deadlines and protocols.
• Effective oral and written communication skills in English are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares treatment room for patient by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols.
• Takes and records patient’s vital signs such as blood pressure and respiration rate.
• Takes dental radiographs, prepares prescriptions, maintains inventory of supplies in sterilization.
• Enters patients’ treatment in computer and prepares all consent forms regarding surgery and the use of anesthesia.
• Gives patients post operative care instructions.
• Schedules patients’ next visit appointment.
• Maintains equipment and instruments by proper care, cleaning, and sterilization.
• Adheres to office education and protocol.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and conducts self in a professional manner.
• Any other duties as assigned

Description

The primary purpose of the Sterile Processing Technician is to collect, clean, decontaminate, disinfect and/or sterilize surgical instruments, trays and packs, reusable medical devices and patient care equipment according to established standards and procedures to ensure sterile and functioning supply of materials and equipment. Facilitates services including blood pressure, radiographs, charting all medical health histories and seeing post-operative apts.

Essential Duties:

• Prepares treatment room for patient by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols.
