Nu-Image in Cary, NC is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to collect, decontaminate, disinfect and sterilize surgical instruments and reusable medical devices, ensuring a steady supply of sterile materials for patient care. Responsibilities include preparing treatment rooms, recording vital signs, taking radiographs, processing consent forms, instructing patients post-operatively, and scheduling follow-up visits.

The role emphasizes OSHA-compliant practices and confidentiality.

Formación

Responsabilidades

• Prepare treatment room for patient per procedures and protocols.
• Take and record vital signs (blood pressure, respiration).
• Take dental radiographs and manage sterilization supplies.
• Enter patient data in computer and prepare consent forms for surgery and anesthesia.
• Provide patients with post-operative care instructions.
• Schedule patients’ next visit appointments.
• Maintain equipment and instruments through cleaning and sterilization.
• Adhere to office education and protocol.

Description

The primary purpose of the Sterile Processing Technician is to collect, clean, decontaminate, disinfect and/or sterilize surgical instruments, trays and packs, reusable medical devices and patient care equipment according to established standards and procedures to ensure sterile and functioning supply of materials and equipment. Facilitates services including blood pressure, radiographs, charting all medical health histories and seeing post-operative apts.

Essential Duties:

• Prepares treatment room for patient by adhering to prescribed procedures and protocols.
• Takes and records patient’s vital signs such as blood pressure and respiration rate.
• Takes dental radiographs, prepares prescriptions, maintains inventory of supplies in sterilization.
• Enters patients’ treatment in computer and prepares all consent forms regarding surgery and the use of anesthesia.
• Gives patients post operative care instructions.
• Schedules patients’ next visit appointment.
• Maintains equipment and instruments by proper care, cleaning, and sterilization.
• Adheres to office education and protocol.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and conducts self in a professional manner.
• Any other duties as assigned

Tuesday-Friday- 6:45am-5pm

Requirements

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Effective oral and written communication skills in English are required.
