Job summary

RisasDental and Braces is seeking a Sterilization Technician to join our family. The role focuses on decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization of instruments, trays, and equipment to support dental care and orthodontic services. Bilingual Spanish/English is required, with attention to safety and aseptic technique.

You will work in a fast-paced team, assist Dental Assistants, and help maintain patient flow while complying with OSHA, HIPAA, and Risas policies.

Qualifications

• Bilingual Spanish/English required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Physically capable of transporting supplies and equipment.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of dental clinical operations and terminology preferred.
• Prioritizing multiple demands to maintain patient flow.
• Ability to work within a team environment and lend support, as a team player.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for decontamination and cleaning of all equipment and instruments; ensures cleanliness and sterility of all instruments.
• Accurately assembles instrument sets based on established count sheets; effectively uses materials and supplies while minimizing waste.
• Appropriately prepares and packages single instrument items, differentiating items requiring steam versus gas sterilization.
• Stores, delivers, and manages sterile supplies using aseptic technique.
• Evaluates functioning of equipment; reports malfunctions and follows through to ensure repairs and maintenance are complete.
• Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing treatment rooms after each use.
• Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA, and Risas policies and practices).
• Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
