Job summary

Summit Health is seeking an Instrument Technician to support surgical services across multiple locations. You will decontaminate, prepare and package instruments, and ensure sterilization cycles meet quality standards to ensure fast, safe patient care.

The role requires a High School Diploma and CRCST certification, and travel to Summit Health sites is required with travel reimbursement provided. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to maintain compliant sterile processing and training

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• CRCST Certification required.
• Travel is required to Summit Health locations; travel reimbursement will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, preparation and packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments.
• Pass all hinged instruments through ultrasound.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness and wear before packaging.
• Sterilize instruments using autoclave/magna clave.
• Document instrument batches and daily spore tests.
• Ensure sterilization equipment is maintained and operates safely.
• Provide training to new staff as needed.
