Medtronic is seeking a Scientist II based at the OHQ Technical Center in Minneapolis, MN to support sterilization research and related technologies.

You will apply chemical engineering principles to plan and execute laboratory investigations, analyze results, and document findings. The role may involve patent work and cross‑department collaboration.

Occasional work from the Mounds View campus may be required; US work authorization considerations apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering with at least 2 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 0 years.
• Knowledge of sterilization processes.
• Experience writing technical reports.
• Medical Device experience.
• For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8C.F.R. §214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A).

Responsibilities

• Initiate, design, develop and implement scientific research projects.
• Investigate the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to inventions and products.
• Plan and execute laboratory research.
• May participate in developing patent applications.
• May coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts.
