Pardee UNC Health Care in North Carolina is offering a trainee position in Sterile Processing designed to meet Central Sterile Tech program requirements. The role provides hands-on training aligned with your coursework in Sterile Processing.

You will learn instrument inspection, decontamination, and cart assembly, assist with supply restocking, and support OR prep activities. Part-time, onsite with a 32-hour work week and variable schedule, perfect for students pursuing a sterile processing

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Current enrollment in a Community College Sterile Processing program or 6 months’ work experience in a healthcare setting preferred in the same facility.

Responsibilities

Learn instrument inspection, assembly, tracking, and preparation for sterilization.
Learn pulling supplies and instruments used in clinical settings.
Learn decontamination, disinfection, and cleaning of instrumentation and equipment.
Move completed case carts from SPD to surgical areas.
Transport dirty case carts from the soiled case cart staging area to SPD decontamination.
Conduct soiled pick-up rounds for patient care equipment and reusable instrument trays.
Assist with supply restocking.
Assist with OR presoak instrument decontamination and cleaning as assigned.
Report instrument malfunctions and route for repair.
Follow infection control norms including PPE and sanitary handling per departmental policies.
