Job summary

HCA Florida Aventura Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure all surgical instruments are cleaned, sterilized, and ready for use. You will work alongside nurses and surgeons to support safe, efficient operations in a busy hospital setting.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, graduation from a Sterile Processing Technician program, and certification or agreement to obtain within 6 months of employment.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent required.
• Graduate from a Sterile Processing Technician program.
• Current Sterile Processing Technician Certification or agreement to obtain within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards.
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver safe, high-quality care.
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs.
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized.
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries.
