Sterile Processing Technician (PRN) – 101 Truman Medical Center
Job Location: University Health Truman Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri
Department: Sterile Processing UHTMC
Position Type: Part time – Work Schedule varied – Hours per Week: 4

Responsibilities

• Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize surgical instruments.
• Prep and pack surgical case carts for the operating room.
• Handle the heavy lifting: receive, store, and distribute supplies and equipment.
• Maintain organization through data entry and inventory control.
• Collaborate effectively across all areas of the SPD and ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certified Central Service or Instrument Technician, or graduate of a Surgical Technology program.
• Alternatively, 5+ years of hands‑on instrument tech experience in the operating room (bonus if you are already working at TMC).
• Proficiency with sterilizers, including equipment operation and process knowledge.
• Comfortable using computers for data input.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. solo.
• Friendly, helpful, and adept at working with people.

Preferred

• 1 year of SPD experience.
