Position Type: Part time.

Work Schedule: Varied.

Hours Per Week: 4.

Job Description

Sterile Processing Department (SPD) Technician – responsible for cleaning, decontaminating, and sterilizing surgical instruments; preparing and packing surgical case carts; handling heavy lifting for supplies and equipment; managing data entry and inventory control; and acting as a flexible team player across SPD.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Be the go‑to expert for cleaning, decontaminating, and sterilizing surgical instruments.
• Prep and pack surgical case carts, ensuring readiness for the OR.
• Handle heavy lifting, receiving, storing, and distributing supplies and equipment.
• Maintain organization through data entry and inventory control.
• Serve as a team player capable of jumping into any area of SPD.

What You Bring To The Table

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certification or experience: Central Service or Instrument Technician certification/program; Surgical Tech program graduate; or 5+ years of hands‑on instrument tech in the Operating Room.
• Knowledge of sterilizer equipment and processes.
• Comfortable with computers and data entry.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs solo.
• Friendly, helpful, and good interpersonal skills.
• Bonus: Already working at TMC (promotions welcomed).

Preferred Qualifications

• At least 1 year of SPD experience.
