Seventh Avenue Surgery Center is seeking a dependable Sterile Processing Technician to join our surgical team. This role ensures instruments are decontaminated, sterilized, stored, and ready for each procedure.

The ideal candidate follows infection-prevention standards, communicates with the clinical team, and maintains records, inventory, and equipment logs while supporting efficient room turnover.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently follow established procedures.
• Ability to prioritize responsibilities and work efficiently in a fast-paced surgical environment.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions, safety procedures, and manufacturers’ instructions for use.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, inspect, assemble, package, sterilize, and store surgical instruments and equipment.
• Prepare instrument trays and supplies according to established count sheets and procedures.
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment in accordance with policies.
• Monitor sterilization processes and document results.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness and proper function.
• Maintain sterilization records and logs.
• Follow proper handling of contaminated instruments and waste.
• Support room turnover and communicate instrument needs to the team.
• Participate in training, safety initiatives, and quality-improvement activities.
