Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, is seeking a Central Service Technician to support the care and handling of sterile instruments in a busy hospital setting.

You will ensure sterilizers operate properly, perform daily tests, inspect equipment, and clean and decontaminate instruments to standards. Strong attention to detail and reliability are essential for patient safety.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year experience as Central Service Technician.
• Obtains national certification within 18 months of hire into the department.

Responsibilities

• Ensures proper operation of sterilizers (Steam, Ethylene Oxide and Sterrad units prior to use on a daily basis.
• Runs biological and chemical tests at beginning of the day shift for both SPD and the OR. Records results in appropriate log.
• Inspects all sterilizers for visible signs of malfunction and reports to SPD Supervisor.
• Cleans and decontaminates all equipment and instruments using the proper tools and cleaning agents.
