Job summary

Piedmont Atlanta Hospital is seeking a Central Sterile Technician to maintain standards for instrument preparation, sterilization, and storage. You will work with Perioperative Nursing to supply sterile instrument sets and case carts, ensuring timely, accurate service.

Candidates may have a CST certificate or 3 years of Central Sterile experience as an alternative. GED or high school diploma required; CST certification preferred for advancement and broader responsibilities.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of Central Sterile Tech program required.
• In lieu of CST certificate, 3 years Central Sterile experience required.
• No CST certificate required if experience meets criteria.

Responsibilities

• Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing and sterilizing instruments.
• Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
• Collaborates with Perioperative Nursing to provide sterile instrument sets and case carts.
• Supports consistent workflow and delivers superior customer service.
