Job summary

Boulder Centre for Orthopedics is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure clean, sterile instruments and readiness for orthopedic surgeries. You will work with the Operating Room team to support safe patient care and efficient procedures in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes decontamination, sterilization, instrument tracking, and adherence to infection prevention standards. Compensation ranges from $18.00 to $32.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, with full-time

Qualifications

• SPD certification required.
• Knowledge of surgical instrument management.
• Familiarity with sterilization methods, autoclaves, and sterile processing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Surgical Readiness: Clean, decontaminate, disinfect, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical devices in accordance with established protocols.
• Maintain Quality & Safety: Carefully inspect instruments for cleanliness, proper functionality, and damage to ensure they meet quality and safety standards.
• Support the Surgical Team: Collaborate closely with Operating Room staff to anticipate instrument needs, fulfill requests, and ensure timely availability of sterile equipment.
• Manage Instruments & Inventory: Maintain accurate records, monitor supply levels, restock inventory, and utilize instrument tracking systems.
• Maintain Sterilization Equipment: Perform routine maintenance, calibration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of sterilization equipment.
• Uphold Compliance Standards: Follow established infection prevention practices, regulatory requirements, and safety procedures while maintaining accurate sterilization and quality control documentation.
• Respond to Changing Priorities: Adapt quickly to urgent requests and changing surgical schedules to support uninterrupted patient care.
• Promote Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about evolving sterilization practices, safety standards, and industry best practices through ongoing training and professional development.
