Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Frisco is seeking a motivated Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. The role focuses on caring for and maintaining all surgical instrumentation and setting up supplies for surgery cases.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, certification within 6 months, and 2–3 years of Instrument Room Technician experience, with knowledge of steam/ gravity and Sterrad sterilizers. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certification CRCST through IAHCSMM, or CRSPT through CBSPD within 6 months of hire.
• 2-3 years experience as Instrument Room Technician.
• Experience with all types of sterilizers.
• Knows operating room instrumentation.
• Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray.
• Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer.
• Understands Low Temperature Sterrad sterilizers.
• Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
• Must be an excellent team player and have the ability to communicate with staff, patients and physicians
