Job description

Job Title: Sterile Processing Technician Lead

The Sterile Processing Technician Lead supports the decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of medical equipment and instruments to ensure safety standards and quality patient care.

1. Supervision and Operations: Works under the Supervisor's direction and assists with daily SPD operations.
2. Resource and Customer Service: Serves as a departmental resource and models excellent customer service.
3. Communication: Maintains communication with the Sterile Processing Supervisor.
4. Expertise and Guidance: Expert in sterile processing cycle; provides guidance and education to SPD staff.
5. Leadership: Assumes Sterile Processing Supervisor role when assigned; leads and directs SPD employees to meet department requirements.
6. Operational Support: Assists with case cart management, case picking, and communicates issues.
7. Equipment and Compliance: Ensures equipment functionality and maintains compliance logs.
8. Policy and Projects: Assists with policy enforcement and special projects.
9. Other Duties: Performs additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: Associate's Degree

Experience:

• Required: 4+ years in Sterile Processing or related field

Licensure/Certification:

• Required: CSPDT, CRCST, or CST certification
• Preferred: CASSPT, CFER, CIS, CSPM certifications
