Job summary

Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to identify manual and mechanical cleaning, prepare supplies, inspect instruments for cleanliness and function, and package and label instrumentation. You will safely operate steam and gas plasma sterilization equipment, verify processes, and document the sterilization steps; adherence to safety standards is essential.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, with CSPDT or CRCST certification required

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CSPDT or CRCST certification required within 2 years of hire.
• Experience in sterile processing and equipment handling is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety standards.
• Identifies manual and/or mechanical cleaning according to the manufacturer's IFU for all general instrumentation.
• Determines, prepares, and uses supplies required in the assembly process.
• Identifies, inspects, assembles general instruments, checking for cleanliness & functionality utilizing count sheets.
• Packages and labels instrumentation.
• Safely operates sterilization equipment and perform verification and documentation of sterilization process.
• Performs high temperature (steam) and low temperature (gas plasma) sterilization.
