Job summary

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience with sterile processing.
• Certification requirement: CRCST or CSPDT at hire; CST or TSC may meet license requirement.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, clean, assemble, sterilize and distribute surgical instruments and equipment.
• Receive and sort contaminated instruments from departments.
• Inspect instruments for cleanliness, function and damage.
• Assemble instrument sets per count sheets and tray lists.
• Wrap or package instruments for sterilization.
• Monitor sterilization cycles and verify parameters.
• Operate and maintain automated washing and decontamination equipment.
• Document sterilization cycles and maintain records.
• Deliver sterile items to requesting departments in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Assist in training new staff on procedures and equipment.
