Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, clean, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment. You will ensure timely delivery of sterile items to procedural areas and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Under supervision, you will learn and apply sterile processing principles, monitor cycles, operate automated washing equipment, and keep accurate records.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification within 18 months of hire; CST or Tech in Surgery Certified (TSC) meets license requirement.
• Ability to follow policies, procedures and regulatory standards.

Mansioni

• Follow safety and infection control policies and use PPE as required.
• Receive and sort contaminated instruments and equipment from various departments.
• Disassemble instruments and clean them using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
• Inspect cleaned instruments for cleanliness, proper function, and damage.
• Assemble instrument sets according to established count sheets and tray lists.
• Wrap or package instruments and sets for sterilization.
• Monitor sterilization cycles and interpret printouts to ensure proper parameters.
• Operate and maintain automated washing and decontamination equipment.
• Load and operate sterilization equipment.
• Document sterilization cycles and maintain accurate records.
• Deliver sterile items to requesting departments in a timely manner.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
