Schedule

Full-Time: 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday, 6am-6pm, no weekends or major holidays. Flexibility with hours required.

General Summary

Collaborates with supervisor and OR RN Coordinators to provide resources and services for surgical instrumentation, supplies, and equipment. Coordinates and implements surgical instrument processing according to specialty workflows. Maintains standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, sterilization, and storage. Acts as a liaison between staff, participates in performance improvement initiatives, and assists in maintaining workflow and customer service.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Assembles and maintains specialty instrumentation and instrument inventory.
• Coordinates with materials management for procurement of instrumentation.
• Performs decontamination, cleaning, assembly, wrapping, sterilization, and storage of supplies and instruments.
• Monitors sterilization processes and maintains documentation.
• Prepares case carts with instruments and supplies for surgeries.
• Operates and maintains sterilization equipment and performs daily cleaning routines.
• Reviews surgical schedules and ensures availability of necessary instruments and supplies.

• Follows policies, participates in education, mentors staff, and seeks process improvements.
• Maintains cleanliness, distributes supplies timely, and assumes charge technician duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

• High School Diploma or GED required

Work Experience:

• At least 2 years of experience as a Certified Central Sterile Processing Technician required

Licenses:

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician or equivalent required at hire
• Additional certifications such as Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician, Endoscope Reprocessor, or Basic Life Support preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent communication and computer skills
• Ability to handle hazardous materials safely
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
• Teamwork and coordination with perioperative staff
