Medical Assistant/Technician Medical Surgical - Queens Medical Group / Downtown Flushing - Urology Practice - Bilingual Korean

NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Groups (NYPMG) are part of the physician enterprise of NewYork-Presbyterian, one of the nation’s most comprehensive academic health care delivery systems affiliated with two world-renowned medical schools. Our team of doctors—including leading experts from Weill Cornell Medicine—offers high-quality outpatient services, including urology services, to provide families with high-quality, patient-centered care close to home in the New York metropolitan area.

In this role, you will:

  1. Observe patient’s condition, report abnormal conditions to staff nurse, and record appropriate documentation in patient’s records.
  2. Measure and record patient height and weight, perform routine vision and hearing examinations, and take pulse and blood pressure readings.
  3. Draw blood from patients and/or perform finger sticks and obtain other specimens as requested by physician or registered nurse.
  4. Assist with diagnostic procedures using aseptic principles in creating and maintaining a sterile field during procedures.
  5. Maintain stock items for examination and blood drawing rooms, forms used by clinical staff, etc.

This is a full-time day shift position, Monday - Friday (9am - 5pm), located in downtown Flushing. May be required to travel to other Queens Medical Group locations as needed.

Required Criteria:

  • High School diploma or GED

Preferred Criteria:

  • Graduate of a State and/or nationally accredited Medical Associate Program
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant
  • 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in an Internal Medicine practice.
  • Bilingual in Korean

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
