Job summary

VHC Health in the Washington, DC metro area seeks a Sterile Processing Technician I to clean and decontaminate equipment, prepare sterile trays, and operate sterilizers to support safe patient care. You will maintain clean department spaces, assist with deliveries, answer phones, and participate in training and in-service programs as part of a collaborative team.

A high school diploma or equivalent and accredited central service training are preferred; two years of experience and certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and central service training preferred.
• Two years of sterile processing experience preferred.
• Certification in sterile processing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and decontaminate medical equipment and instrumentation.
• Prepare sterile procedure trays and equipment.
• Operate steam and low-temperature sterilizers.
• Maintain sterile/clean storage areas and department spaces.
• Answer phones and deliver requested items.
• Complete documentation and participate in training programs.
