Job summary

Intermountain Healthcare Inc. seeks a Central Processing Technician to ensure sterile processing supplies are properly inventoried, decontaminated, assembled, and sterilized, stored, and tracked in compliance with state and federal regulations.

You will train and validate competencies to perform duties independently with minimal supervision. The role may require overtime, float to other departments, and on-call assignments based on business need.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, decontaminate, and disinfect basic surgical instruments.
• Identify, assemble, protect, wrap, label and sterilize basic surgical instruments.
• Print and assemble needs lists for surgical/medical procedures.
• Issue sterile supplies to hospital areas and regional campuses.
• Perform basic inventory duties and communicate with providers and vendors.
• Disassemble, clean, decontaminate, and disinfect instruments in Level 2 scope.
• Validate biological and chemical sterilization tests and parameters.
• Train and precept students and new SPD caregivers.
